Case of the ‘ex’

Back in those days,
My feet, he swept.
He called me love, he lied,
I cried. I wept….

Promises made, by no means kept
Never will he fathom,
The way I felt,
My worries, my depth….

He is now,
Only yours to keep
The seed, I’ve sown,
The harvest you reap!

Love him tender,
Love him deep.
Never, ever
Make him weep…

To me now,
He’s no less than a creep.
Rude, selfish, cheap
I don’t know him anymore…

This stranger, you can keep,
You can keep…

Umm ... so reading between the lines; you broke your heart ... (?)
(hug)

P.S. You still write beautifully, though the earlier blues touch is gone.

Okay, I am going to stop the recommendations after this one :P, but listen to Beth Orton's I Wish I Never Saw the Sunshine. I heard it for the first time a few days back and it is so good. Sorry, I will stop drooling now :|
